English is adopted as the medium of instruction (MOI) at Tak Oi Secondary School for all subjects except Chinese Language, Putonghua, Chinese History, Ethics & Religious Education. An English-rich environment is reinforced through the use of English in everyday announcements, notices, assemblies, homeroom periods and major events like Sports Day, Singing Contest, Graduation Day and Prayer Service.  Differentiated learning activities and support measures are adopted by the school to enhance the learning and teaching effectiveness, such as cross-curricular learning content between English and other EMI subjects, LaC Extensive Reading Programme, Reading across the Curriculum among EMI subjects, Extended Curriculum and professional learning communities among teachers. We are also committed to enable our students to become bilingual and trilingual individuals who are able to communicate confidently and fluently in Cantonese, English and Putonghua.
